At our Home, we believe that every child deserves more than just a roof over their head — they deserve the chance to grow strong, learn with focus, and dream without the constant ache of hunger. Our feeding program is one of the most vital parts of the care we provide to the 28 vulnerable children (aged 3–16) currently under our roof. These are orphaned, abandoned, displaced, or poverty-stricken little ones who now call our home their family. For many, the meals they receive here are the most reliable and the nutritious food they get in a day.

Why Feeding Matters More Than You Might Think?

Hunger doesn’t just empty a child’s stomach, it empties their potential:
• It affects concentration in class.
• It weakens their immune system.
• It steals the joy of play and the energy to learn new skills. But when a child sits down to a warm, wholesome meal, something beautiful happens. Their eyes light up. They laugh louder. They listen better in school. They grow healthier in body, mind, and spirit.
Our feeding program goes beyond “just a meal.” It’s an act of love that says: “You are seen. You are valued. You matter to God and to us.”

What a Typical Day of Meals Looks Like?

We strive to provide three meals a day whenever resources allow:
• Breakfast — Often a nutritious porridge made with maize flour and bread to give the children sustained energy for the morning.
• Lunch & Dinner — Balanced portions of staples like posho (maize meal), rice, or matooke, paired with beans, vegetables, or small amounts of protein (for meat when possible). The older children joyfully help in the kitchen — learning to prepare food, serve w ith love, and develop life skills that will serve them for years to come. Watching their little hands working together with big hearts is one of our favorite sights.

We also extend support through community feeding initiatives, reaching even more children who face daily hunger on the streets or in struggling families.

Challenges We Face Every Month?

Providing consistent, nutritious meals for 28 growing children — plus occasional outreach — is our biggest ongoing need. Rent, school fees, medical care, and clothing compete for every shilling. Many months, we stretch what we have, trusting God and the generosity of friends like you to bridge the gap.

Every plate of food represents answered prayers and faithful support from people who believe in second chances. Together, we’re not just feeding bodies.
